## NCRTC Supervisor Civil exam pattern 2026 by section

| Section | Subject | Questions | Marks |
| ------- | ------------------------------------- | --------- | ------- |
| A | Reasoning | 20 | 20 |
| B | General Knowledge and Current Affairs | 20 | 20 |
| C | Subject Knowledge (civil topics) | 60 | 60 |
| Total | | **100** | **100** |

Sections A and B are common for all post codes. Section C carries **60 marks**. This is more than Sections A and B together. Read the [syllabus page](/article/ncrtc/ncrtc-supervisor-civil-2026/syllabus/) for the topics in each section.

## Marking scheme, time, and language

- Each correct answer carries 1 mark.
- NCRTC does not apply negative marking for wrong answers.
- The CBT lasts 90 minutes. This gives you about **54 seconds** for each question.
- You can appear in the CBT in Hindi or English.
- If you apply for more than one post, the CBT for those posts may take place at the same date and time. You can appear in the CBT for one post only.

Because there is no negative marking, you must answer every question. A guess can add a mark. A blank answer adds nothing.

## Qualifying marks in the NCRTC CBT

| Category | Minimum qualifying percentage | Minimum marks out of 100 |
| ------------------------------- | ----------------------------- | ------------------------ |
| UR, OBC (NCL), and EWS | 60 percent | 60 |
| SC, ST, PwBD, and ex-servicemen | 50 percent | 50 |

NCRTC makes further selection on merit. The qualifying marks alone do not give you any right to shortlisting or final selection. The result depends on the number of positions, the ratio that NCRTC applies, and relative performance in each category. NCRTC also reserves the right to fix the minimum standard or the qualifying marks for any post.

A candidate from a reserved category who applies against an unreserved post gets no relaxation in the qualifying marks. That candidate must meet the UR standard of 60 marks.

## How to use the pattern in your plan

To reach 60 marks, you must answer 60 questions correctly. Split your study time by the weight of each section. Give the most time to the civil topics, because they carry 60 marks. Practice Reasoning and General Knowledge in short daily sessions.

Practice with a timer of 90 minutes. Aim to finish each question in under 54 seconds on average. Read the [selection process](/article/ncrtc/ncrtc-supervisor-civil-2026/selection-process/) to see what follows the CBT. Next, read the [NCRTC Supervisor Civil syllabus 2026](/article/ncrtc/ncrtc-supervisor-civil-2026/syllabus/) page for the full topic list.
