NCRTC has not announced the CBT date yet. The notice lists no other stage. See the [exam pattern](/article/ncrtc/ncrtc-supervisor-electronics-2026/exam-pattern/) for sections and marks.

## Stage 1: Computer-based test

Each correct answer carries 1 mark. There is no negative marking. UR, OBC (NCL), and EWS candidates need **60%**. SC, ST, PwBD, and ex-servicemen candidates need **50%**.

Qualifying marks do not give a right to further selection. The number of posts, the ratio NCRTC applies, and relative performance in each category decide who goes forward. NCRTC may also fix the minimum standard for any post.

### Test centers

A candidate chooses five cities in the application form. NCRTC does not allow a change later. NCRTC may assign, cancel, or add any center. The center options are:

Delhi-NCR, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kanpur, Agra, Vadodara, Indore, Thane, Pune, Guwahati, Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Cuttack, Harohalli, Jaipur, and Patiala.

### Admit card and exam hall rules

A candidate must download the admit card from ncrtc.in only. NCRTC also sends the admit card link to the registered email address. A mobile phone or other communication device in the exam hall counts as misconduct. NCRTC can expel the candidate at once.

## Stage 2: Medical fitness test

A candidate who clears the CBT must meet the A-3 medical standard for post D02. The A-3 standard has these vision rules:

- Distant vision must be 6/9 and 6/9, with or without glasses.
- Near vision must be Sn 0.6 and 0.6, with or without glasses.
- Colour, binocular, field, and night vision must be present.
- Glasses power must not exceed plus or minus 2D.
- Lasik surgery is not allowed.

The notice calls these standards indicative and not exhaustive. It points to the Indian Railway Medical Manual for full details. NCRTC pays for the first medical examination only.

## Document check and character verification

NCRTC checks original documents on the date of the medical examination. NCRTC rejects a candidate who does not meet the [eligibility rules](/article/ncrtc/ncrtc-supervisor-electronics-2026/eligibility/). Success in the selection process gives no right to appointment until NCRTC finds the character and antecedents satisfactory.

A selected candidate fills in an attestation form. NCRTC removes a candidate from service if the candidate hides or gives wrong information.

Next, read the [exam pattern](/article/ncrtc/ncrtc-supervisor-electronics-2026/exam-pattern/).
