Section C carries 60% of the marks. A candidate who knows the diploma subjects well can build a large lead there. Sections A and B are the same for all nine post codes. The [syllabus page](/article/ncrtc/ncrtc-supervisor-mechanical-2026/syllabus/) lists the topics for each section.

## Marking scheme and time for each question

Each question has 1 mark. There is no negative marking, so a wrong answer costs nothing. You can attempt all 100 questions. Leave no question blank.

You have about 54 seconds for each question, because 90 minutes divided by 100 questions gives 54 seconds. Practice reasoning questions for speed. This saves time for the 60 subject questions in Section C.

## Qualifying marks

| Category | Minimum qualifying percentage | Marks out of 100 |
| --------------------------- | ----------------------------- | ---------------- |
| UR, OBC (NCL), EWS | 60% | 60 |
| SC, ST, PwBD, ex-servicemen | 50% | 50 |

Qualifying marks alone do not give selection. NCRTC selects on merit. The [selection process page](/article/ncrtc/ncrtc-supervisor-mechanical-2026/selection-process/) explains the merit step and the medical test that follows.
