NCRTC Supervisor Electrical eligibility 2026: what qualification do you need?
Post Code D03 needs a 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Full Time). A full-time B.E., B.Tech., or B.Sc. (Engg.) in the relevant discipline is also permitted for Post Codes D02 to D05.
Only full-time regular courses count. The qualification must come from a UGC recognized Indian university, a UGC recognized Indian deemed university, or an AICTE approved course. If you claim an equivalent qualification, you must produce a copy of the equivalence certificate.
If your university gives a CGPA or grade, write the equivalent percentage in the application. NCRTC may ask for proof from the university at the medical examination.
What is the age limit for NCRTC Supervisor Electrical?
The maximum age is 28 years on 10 September 2026. Only Indian nationals above 18 years of age can apply. The table shows the upper age limit after each relaxation.
| Category | Age relaxation | Upper age limit |
|---|---|---|
| UR and EWS | None | 28 years |
| OBC (NCL) | 3 years | 31 years |
| SC and ST | 5 years | 33 years |
| Ex-servicemen | Length of military service plus 3 years | Up to 50 years in total |
| PwBD, UR and EWS | 10 years | 38 years |
| PwBD, OBC (NCL) | 13 years | 41 years |
| PwBD, SC and ST | 15 years | 43 years |
NCRTC identifies the post as suitable for PwBD candidates. The PwBD relaxation therefore applies to you, whether or not a vacancy is reserved. If you belong to more than one category in the table, the relaxations add up. The total age must not exceed 50 years.
What rules apply to category certificates?
You must give the right certificate to claim a reservation or a relaxation:
- SC, ST, and OBC (NCL): a certificate in the prescribed format for appointment to posts under the Government of India.
- OBC creamy layer: you cannot claim the OBC (NCL) concession. Indicate your category as UR.
- EWS: an Income and Asset Certificate valid for the current financial year.
- PwBD: a disability certificate in the format that the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment prescribes. The disability must be at least 40 percent.
- Other languages: if the certificate is not in English or Hindi, give a self-certified translated copy.
SC, ST, OBC (NCL), and EWS candidates can also apply against unreserved posts. You must then meet the unreserved criteria. You get no relaxation in age or qualifying marks at any stage if you choose this route. See the vacancy page for the category split.
Do NCRTC employees get any relaxation?
An NCRTC employee who completed one year of service on the notice date gets two benefits. The age limit rises by the completed years of service. NCRTC also relaxes the full-time qualification rule.
When does NCRTC check your eligibility?
NCRTC checks your original documents on the date of the medical examination. If you do not meet the criteria, NCRTC rejects your candidature. Your admission to every stage is provisional until this check.
An admit card or a pass in the test does not prove your eligibility. NCRTC cancels your candidature if you give false information. NCRTC can also end your service after appointment for the same reason. The selection process page explains the medical examination.
