NCRTC Supervisor Electrical selection process 2026: Stage 1, the CBT
The CBT has 100 questions for 100 marks. It lasts 90 minutes. You can take it in Hindi or in English. Each correct answer earns 1 mark, and wrong answers carry no negative marking. The exam pattern page explains each section.
You must score the minimum qualifying marks for your category.
| Category | Minimum qualifying percentage | Minimum marks out of 100 |
|---|---|---|
| UR, OBC (NCL), and EWS | 60 percent | 60 |
| SC, ST, PwBD, and ex-servicemen | 50 percent | 50 |
Further selection is on merit. The minimum marks give you no right to shortlisting or final selection. The result depends on the number of positions, the ratio that NCRTC applies, and your relative performance in your category.
Stage 2: What is the NCRTC medical fitness test?
NCRTC calls the candidates it selects after the CBT for a medical fitness test. Supervisor-I posts, Post Codes D01 to D05, need the A-3 standard. The A-3 standard has these rules:
- You must be physically fit in all respects.
- Distant vision must be 6/9 and 6/9, with or without glasses.
- Near vision must be Sn 0.6 and 0.6, with or without glasses.
- Colour vision, binocular vision, field of vision, and night vision must be present.
- The power of glasses must not exceed plus or minus 2D.
- Lasik surgery is not allowed.
These standards are indicative and not complete. NCRTC refers candidates to the Indian Railway Medical Manual for full detail. NCRTC pays for your first medical examination. You pay for a second examination or a re-examination if you do not join in time and ask for an extension.
How does NCRTC check documents and character?
NCRTC checks your original documents on the date of the medical examination. If you do not meet the eligibility criteria, NCRTC rejects your candidature. The eligibility page lists the rules.
Selection does not give you a right to appointment. NCRTC also checks your character and antecedents. You must fill in an attestation form at the time of appointment. NCRTC removes you from service if you hide or give wrong information.
Where does NCRTC hold the CBT?
NCRTC lists 22 test centers. The first 11 are Delhi-NCR, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Kanpur. The other 11 are Agra, Vadodara, Indore, Thane, Pune, Guwahati, Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Cuttack, Harohalli, Jaipur, and Patiala.
You gave a preference for five cities in your application. NCRTC does not accept a change after submission. NCRTC can assign any center, cancel a center, or add a center.

You must download the admit card from ncrtc.in only. NCRTC also sends the admit card link to your registered email. NCRTC takes no responsibility for information on any other website.
The admit card does not prove your eligibility. Your candidature stays provisional until NCRTC verifies it. A mobile phone or any communication device in the exam hall is misconduct. NCRTC can expel you and take other action.
CBTs for several posts may share the same date and time. You can appear in the CBT for one post only.
