The NICL AO exam day checklist 2026 is short. Carry your call letter, an original photo ID and a photocopy of the same ID. Leave phones, watches and calculators at home. Return to the NICL AO Agriculture 2026 guide for all pages.

What is on the NICL AO exam day checklist?

NICL does not let a candidate enter without these three items.

  1. A valid call letter for your date and session.
  2. Your photo ID in original. The name must match the call letter and the form exactly.
  3. A photocopy of the same photo ID.

Read the NICL AO admit card 2026 page for the download steps and the photograph rule.

Which photo IDs does NICL accept?

NICL accepts any one of these IDs, if it carries your photograph and the same name as the call letter.

  • PAN card
  • Passport
  • Permanent driving license
  • Voter ID card
  • Bank passbook with photograph
  • Aadhaar card or e-Aadhaar with photograph
  • Employee ID
  • Bar Council identity card with photograph
  • A recent identity card from a recognized college or university
  • A photo ID that a Gazetted Officer issues on official letterhead
  • A photo ID that a public representative issues on official letterhead

NICL does not accept a ration card or a learner driving license.

What if your name does not match?

If the name on the call letter and the ID differ, NICL can refuse entry. Female candidates who changed a name after marriage must take care. A candidate with a changed name can sit the exam only with an original Gazette notification, an original marriage certificate or an original affidavit.

When must you reach the NICL AO exam center?

The call letter gives a reporting time. It comes before the test start. NICL does not let a candidate in after that time.

Phase I lasts 60 minutes and Phase II lasts 210 minutes. You may need to stay longer at the center. NICL checks documents, collects data, logs you in and gives instructions before the test starts.

Which items does NICL ban at the exam center?

NICL bans the following items. It can cancel a candidature, take disciplinary action, ban a candidate from future exams and file a police complaint for a breach.

  • Written or printed material, bits of paper, and calculators.
  • Geometry boxes, pencil boxes, plastic pouches, scales and writing pads.
  • Pen drives, log tables and electronic pens or scanners.
  • Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones, pagers and health bands.
  • Goggles, handbags, hair pins, hair bands, belts and caps.
  • Rings, earrings, nose pins, chains, necklaces, pendants, badges and brooches.
  • Any watch or wrist watch, and any camera.
  • Any metallic item.
  • Any food item, opened or packed.

NICL cannot promise safekeeping of these items. Leave them at home.

How do the sectional timer and marking work?

Each section has its own timer. Unused time in one section does not move to another section. Phase I gives 20 minutes to each section.

NICL deducts one-fourth of the marks for a wrong answer. A blank answer carries no penalty. Read the NICL AO exam pattern 2026 to plan your time.

What happens on the day of Phase II?

NICL captures the thumb impression, iris scan and photograph of each candidate on the day of Phase II. NICL gives this advice for a smooth capture.

  • Wash off any ink, mehndi or color from your fingers.
  • Wash and dry your fingers if they are dirty, dusty or moist.
  • Tell the center staff at once if you have a thumb injury.
  • Do not wear contact lenses or makeup around the eyes.

Check all keys on the keyboard before you type the descriptive answers.

What if a technical problem hits the exam?

NICL says a problem in the test can occur. It then tries to fix the problem. This can mean moving candidates to another seat or a delay in the test. NICL decides at its own discretion whether to hold a re-exam. A candidate has no claim for a re-test.

What is the next step after the checklist?

You have now covered the full guide. Return to the NICL AO Agriculture 2026 guide for the key dates and links. Check the NICL AO exam centers 2026 list one more time before you travel.
