What is the CPRI Engineering Assistant Electrical eligibility 2026 for qualification?

• You must hold a First Class 3-year diploma in Engineering or Technology in Electrical.
• You must have 5 years of experience in the relevant field.
• Only Indian nationals who are 18 years of age or older can apply.

The diploma must come from a university, institution, or board that the Government of India recognizes. UGC, AICTE, or state government approval also counts, as applicable.

If you hold dual qualifications or specializations, you must prove that your major specialization fits the post. Show this proof at document verification or at the skill test.

What is the age limit?

CPRI counts your age on 12 October 2026. It also counts your educational qualification and your category certificates on that date. Use the date of birth on your matriculation or secondary school certificate. CPRI asks for this proof at document verification.

How much age relaxation do I get?

The notification says the upper age limit is relaxable under Government of India norms. It also says age relaxation applies only to posts reserved for your category. The table shows the standard relaxation and the new upper age limit.

This post has no ST vacancy. The notification reserves two of the 10 posts for persons with benchmark disability in the locomotor disability group.

Which certificates prove your category?

• OBC (NCL): Produce the latest valid OBC (NCL) certificate from the competent authority. Without it, CPRI treats you as unreserved.
• EWS: Produce the latest valid EWS certificate in the format that the Government of India prescribes.
• SC: Produce your caste certificate.
• PwBD: You must have at least 40% of a specified disability. The competent medical authority must certify it.
• Government employees: Produce an original no objection certificate (NOC) from your present employer at document verification.

Fill in your category with care in the online form. CPRI does not allow a change after you submit. A wrong entry leads to disqualification.

What proof of experience does CPRI need?

Your experience certificate must come on the letterhead of your organization. It must show these items:

• the post you held
• the period of service
• your gross emoluments
• your area of experience

CPRI also asks for supporting records. These include the EPF contribution statement or the UAN service history, bank statements that show salary credits, and Form 16.
