The SSC CHSL admit card 2026 is called the Admission Certificate in the official notice. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) issues it online for each stage of the exam. This page explains when it comes out, what a candidate must carry and which rules apply at the exam centre. Read the SSC CHSL 2026 guide for the overview.
When does SSC issue the SSC CHSL admit card 2026?
SSC issues Admission Certificates online on its website. It makes the download facility available 2 to 3 days before the exam. SSC uploads the exam time table and city about 10 days before the exam. See the exam date page for the Tier-I window.
A candidate must bring a printout of the Admission Certificate to the exam hall. SSC issues certificates for later stages only to qualified candidates.
What must a candidate carry on exam day?
The list depends on Aadhaar based authentication.
| Candidate | What to carry |
|---|---|
| Completed Aadhaar based authentication | Printout of the Admission Certificate. SSC does not ask for photos or the original photo ID at the venue. |
| Did not complete Aadhaar based authentication | Printout of the Admission Certificate, at least two recent passport size colour photos and one original valid photo ID. Report 2 hours before the start. |
| Candidate with a scribe facility | The documents above, the medical certificate or undertaking, and a photocopy of the ID of the scribe. |
Which photo ID proofs are valid?
The photo ID must be an original and must show the date of birth printed on the Admission Certificate. Valid proofs are:
- Voter ID card.
- Driving license.
- PAN card.
- Passport.
- ID card from a university, college or school.
- Employer ID card from the government or a public sector undertaking.
- Ex-Serviceman Discharge Book from the Ministry of Defence.
- Any other photo ID card from the Central or a State Government.
The notice also lists Aadhaar card or e-Aadhaar printout among the accepted IDs.
What if the ID has no date of birth or a different one?
If the photo ID has no date of birth, carry another original paper that shows it. A matriculation certificate or a mark sheet from CBSE, ICSE or a State board works. A birth certificate, a category certificate or a passport also works.
If the dates of birth on the Admission Certificate and the ID differ, SSC does not allow the candidate to take the exam. Make sure that the two match before exam day.
What other rules apply at the exam centre?
- The look of the candidate must match the live photo in the form. SSC staff can refuse a suspicious candidate.
- Electronic gadgets in the exam hall lead to a ban of 3 to 5 years.
- Leaving the venue before the exit procedure ends leads to a ban of 1 year.
- A forged admit card or ID leads to a ban of 3 to 5 years.
- A candidate who takes away rough sheets or other exam material faces a ban of 1 to 2 years.
SSC checks logs, photos, biometrics and CCTV after the exam.
What is the next step?
Check the exam pattern and finish your preparation. Keep a copy of every document for later stages, as the selection process page explains.
