The SSC CHSL exam date 2026 for Tier-I is 30 November to 31 December 2026, as proposed by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). SSC gave this window in its Important Notice dated 1 October 2026. The exam is a computer based examination (CBE). Read the SSC CHSL 2026 guide for the overview.

What is the SSC CHSL exam date 2026 for each stage?

StageDate
Tier-I (CBE)30 November 2026 to 31 December 2026
Tier-II (CBE)To be notified later
Exam city detailsAbout 10 days before the exam date
Admission certificate2 to 3 days before the exam date

The notice calls the schedule tentative. SSC says it will tell candidates about any change only through its website. A candidate must not rely on messages from other sources.

How does a candidate learn the exact date and city?

SSC uploads the time table and the exam city for each candidate about 10 days before the exam date. The candidate opens the SSC website and logs in with the registration details. SSC may also contact the candidate by email or SMS, but it does not promise to do so.

If a candidate finds no details one week before the exam date, the candidate must contact the concerned Regional Office at once. The candidate must carry proof that the application was submitted. A late contact removes any claim for consideration.

What details does a candidate need to contact SSC?

SSC does not answer messages that lack the right details. Write these items in every message:

  • Registration number.
  • Roll number.
  • Registered email ID and mobile number.
  • Name and date of birth.
  • Name of the examination.

The SSC headquarters help desk is 1800 309 3063, a toll-free number. Each Regional Office also has its own number in the notice.

What happens on the day of the exam?

A candidate reports to the exam centre with the admission certificate and the right documents. Read the admit card page for the full list.

The Tier-I paper lasts 60 minutes with a 15-minute timer for each part. A candidate with a scribe facility gets 80 minutes. See the exam pattern page for the marks.

SSC may hold the exam in many shifts. It then normalizes the scores. Candidates in different shifts can face papers of different difficulty, and normalization adjusts for this.

How can a candidate use the days left?

Use the syllabus as a checklist. Take timed tests in the same 15-minute format. Compare your score with the previous year cutoff. The preparation strategy page gives a plan.

What is the next step?

Read the admit card page and prepare your documents before the exam city details appear.
