Educational qualification for Supervisor-I (Civil)

The notices ask for a 3-year diploma in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification. The course must be a full-time regular course. NCRTC does not consider part-time courses. A full-time B.E., B.Tech, or B.Sc (Engg.) degree in the relevant discipline is also permitted.

Follow these rules for your qualification:

  • Your qualification must come from a UGC recognized Indian university or a UGC recognized Indian deemed university.
  • An AICTE approved course from an autonomous Indian institution also meets this rule. The same applies to a course from the concerned statutory council, where it applies.
  • If you claim an equivalent qualification, you must produce the equivalence certificate.
  • If your institute gives CGPA, OGPA, CPI, or a grade, you must show the equivalent percentage in the application. Use the norms of your university or institute.
  • NCRTC may ask for proof from your institute at the time of the medical examination.

Age limit and age relaxation

The maximum age for every category starts at 28 years. The table below adds the relaxation that the notices list. It shows the maximum age for a candidate who belongs to one category.

CategoryAge relaxation (years)Maximum age (years)
UR and EWSNone28
OBC (NCL)331
SC and ST533
PwBD in UR and EWS1038
PwBD in OBC (NCL)1341
PwBD in SC and ST1543
Ex-servicemenLength of military service plus 328 plus the relaxation, up to 50

Relaxation for more than one category adds up. The maximum upper age must not exceed 50 years after all relaxations.

Apply these extra rules:

  • PwBD relaxation applies whether or not NCRTC reserves the post. NCRTC identifies both D05 and C08 as suitable for PwBD candidates with locomotor disability.
  • An ex-servicemen candidate who already holds a regular government job can claim age relaxation for a higher post. That candidate cannot claim the ex-servicemen reservation.
  • An NCRTC employee with 1 year or more of service on the notice date gets age relaxation equal to the completed years of service. NCRTC also relaxes the full-time qualification rule for that employee.
  • A candidate from a reserved category who applies against an unreserved post gets no age relaxation. That candidate also gets no relaxation in the qualifying marks.

Certificates you must have

Keep these certificates ready for the document check:

  • SC, ST, and OBC (NCL): a certificate in the proforma for posts under the Government of India. A designated authority must issue it.
  • OBC creamy layer: these candidates must show their category as UR.
  • EWS: an Income and Asset Certificate valid for the current financial year. A competent authority must issue it.
  • PwBD: a disability certificate in the format of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The disability must be at least 40 percent.
  • Other languages: if a certificate is in a language other than English or Hindi, you must give a self-certified translated copy.

When NCRTC checks your eligibility

NCRTC verifies your eligibility with your original documents on the date of the medical examination. NCRTC rejects the candidature of a candidate who fails this check. Your admission to every stage stays provisional until then.

NCRTC cancels the candidature of a candidate who gives false information or hides a fact. NCRTC may end the service of such a candidate even after appointment.
