NCRTC Supervisor Mechanical eligibility 2026 needs two things. You need a 3-year full-time Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification. The maximum age is 28 years on 10 September 2026. Only Indian nationals above 18 years of age can apply. This page is part of the NCRTC Supervisor Mechanical 2026 guide.

Qualification for Supervisor-I (Mechanical)

The essential qualification for post code D04 is a 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (full time). The notice also allows a B.E., B.Tech., or B.Sc. (Engineering) degree in the relevant discipline. The degree must also be full time.

These rules apply to the qualification:

  • NCRTC considers only full-time regular courses.
  • The qualification must come from a UGC recognized Indian university or a UGC recognized Indian deemed university.
  • An AICTE approved course from an autonomous Indian institution also counts, as does a course approved by the concerned statutory council where it applies.
  • A candidate who claims an equivalent qualification must produce a copy of the equivalence certificate.
  • If the board gives CGPA, OGPA, CPI, or a grade, you must enter the equivalent percentage under the university rule.

NCRTC may ask for proof of the percentage from your university or institute at the medical examination. Keep that proof ready before the stage starts.

Age relaxation for NCRTC Supervisor-I (Mechanical)

The notice lists relaxation rules for reserved vacancies. Supervisor-I (Mechanical) has no reserved vacancy. All 3 posts are unreserved (UR).

Candidates from four groups can apply against an unreserved post. These groups are Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class Non-Creamy Layer (OBC (NCL)), and Economically Weaker Section (EWS). Such a candidate must meet the UR criteria. Rule 2.10 says this candidate gets no age relaxation and no lower qualifying marks in the CBT. Treat 28 years as your limit.

CategoryAge relaxation in the notice
SC or ST5 years
OBC (NCL)3 years
Ex-servicemenLength of military service plus 3 years
PwBD (UR or EWS)10 years
PwBD (OBC (NCL))13 years
PwBD (SC or ST)15 years

The notice allows cumulative relaxation when a candidate fits more than one category. The upper age cannot exceed 50 years after all relaxations. Ex-servicemen age relaxation follows Government of India instructions.

Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) get age relaxation only when NCRTC identifies the post as suitable for PwBD. NCRTC did not identify Supervisor-I (Mechanical). The PwBD relaxation therefore does not apply to this post.

NCRTC employees with at least 1 year of service on the notice date get age relaxation equal to their completed years of service. They also get relaxation from the full-time qualification rule.

Document check and provisional admission

NCRTC checks eligibility against original documents on the date of the medical examination. A candidate who fails the check does not move to the next stage. NCRTC then rejects the candidature. Admission to every stage stays provisional until the check ends.

NCRTC cancels the candidature of any candidate who gives false information or hides a material fact. If NCRTC finds this after appointment, it can end the service. Read the selection process page for the medical standard that also decides the final result.
